It's the visit no one expects, and the one absolutely no one wants. There's nothing worse than hearing a knock on the door, just to see the red and blue reflection from the lights of a police car as you get closer to answer. It's a knock that changes your life forever.

Sadly, too many Idaho families have lived that scenario. The door opens only to be told they have lost someone they love in a car accident, many lives of which may have been saved with the proper use of a seatbelt.

That's why I was glad to see that BPD will be focusing to crack down on unbelted drivers KTVB reports:

Boise police to crack down on unbelted drivers
For the next two weeks, 20 Boise police officers will solely focus on citing unbelted drivers.

We reached out to the Boise Police a few months ago after, what seemed like, a record amount of fatalities were caused in part by the driver not wearing a seatbelt. While Boise Police couldn't provide us with set numbers of fatalities caused by not wearing a seatbelt, the two went hand-in-hand with many of the articles we wrote about here at 103.5 KISS FM.

Wearing a seatbelt is critical when you're in a vehicle, and it absolutely can save your life when tragedy strikes. If you do it for no other reason, keep in mind that police WILL be on the alert ensuring drivers click it. Save yourself the fine, and save your loved ones the heartbreak.

Click it or ticket!
