Celebrate National Dog Day Today

Today is one of the greatest days of the entire year-- National Dog Day! Mans best friend, as we know them, are special every single day but today they should be getting a little extra love. Nothing quite beats having a long day at work and knowing that when I get home, my dog, Piccolo, is going to be waiting for me by the door with a loud "meow" greeting!

I adopted my dog about five years ago, have having my companion Piccolo has been the single best decision I have ever made. She was just a puppy that fit in the palm of my hand when I adopted her. In fact, she was already claimed by a family but then told the foster mom that they had "found a cuter puppy" to adopt instead. Honestly, how do you get any cuter than Piccolo!?  There's a picture of her as a kitten, below!

In honor of National Dog Day, you, like me, should definitely spoil your doggo a little extra when you get home today. Clean that litter box and roll all of their toys in catnip! Don't have a dog? Well, when better than today to adopt!? The Idaho Humane Society has a ton of dogs and poppies of all ages and breeds that are eager to find a forever home.
