The one thing I love about a community the size of the Treasure Valley is all the local events at almost no cost. You goto a movie, grab food, drinks, play games, and you're deep $20 per person.

Add so many events from Boise out to Caldwell and these things begin to add up especially around the holiday. I found you a great event next weekend where you can give back, enjoy a free event and spend some time with Santa 🎅Welcome to the Children's Winterland Festival in Meridian.

Children's Winterland Festival in Meridian

Grab the kids, nieces, nephews or some fun friends and head out to Meridian for a great Winter Festival benefitting the Meridian Food Bank. There will be games for the kids, cookie decorating, ornament making, Christmas card designing, letters to Santa, and pictures with the magical man himself.

There is no cost with a donation to the Meridian Food Bank which is always in need during the holiday season and with your help could save some lives. There will be fun booths to interact with local businesses that contribute to keeping Meridian all about the community.

This event takes place at the Boys & Girls Club in Meridian. I've had some great experiences with the Boys & Girls Club. These amazing people including volunteers come out to ride for our annual child abuse prevention campaign (Live for 175) each year. I began an earlier part of my career in Anchorage, Alaska and would volunteer on Thanksgiving at the Boys & Girls Club. You would be surprised how many people they would feed on a day that most of us spend with groups of family members. This club does so much more and everyone that contributes their time should be applauded. Most of us are just a few paychecks from being homeless. Some of us work to scrape along and clubs like these help families survive.

Get out to Meridian Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Remember that admission is free with donations. I'm gonna give you a downloadable list and link so you know what they might be looking for. They will also be accepting cash.
