Good luck outrunning the newest recruits to the Idaho State Police.

This is the first year Idaho's police force is using drones to aid in police work, and it's giving them a huge advantage in fighting crime. ISP Cpt. John Ganske explains:

Initially our intent is to use the drones or the UAS for crime scene documentation and also for crash scene investigation, it allows us to of course better document crime scenes and of course help us clear traffic on scenes a lot quicker and get traffic flowing.

The drones definitely have capabilities beyond fighting for justice. The aerial cameras can aid in crime scene investigation, during natural disasters, and in search and rescue missions.

Idaho State Police says in order to qualm citizens' concerns about privacy, they will obtain search warrants when necessary if flying over private land.
