We're just going to come right out and say it: Idaho isn't widely known for being a smorgasbord of diversity. However, plenty of news stories claim that's changing in 2025.

Cool, but is that true? Let's math some math.

How diverse is Idaho in 2025?

It's not. Like, at all.

According to recent statistics, there are almost 18 TIMES MORE white people in Idaho than any other race or ethnicity. Meaning, of the 1,900,000ish people who reside in Idaho, about 1,500,000 of them are white.

So, no. Not super diverse.

Who are the folks who aren't white that live in Idaho? Here's how that breaks down:

  • African American - 1%
  • American Indian / Alaska Native - 1%
  • Asian - 2%
  • Hispanic - 14%

While we are seeing an influx of people moving to Idaho (and have for a few years now), it'll be interesting to see if these numbers have any kind of flux to them in the near future.

Because, we love seeing all kinds of people living in and loving Idaho!
