The price of eggs? Sky high.

Housing costs? Through the roof.

Inflation? Out of control.

But don't you worry, because the Idaho government is here to help!

Oh, that's not what they're working on? They're instead trying to pass a bill banning mask mandates? I see.

What's going on?

On Friday, February 21st, the Idaho Senate voted 27-6 to pass House Bill 32. What exactly is House Bill 32? A quick summary:

House Bill 32 would prevent the state, cities, counties, school districts, public health districts and government officials in Idaho from mandating that an individual wear a mask or face covering to prevent or slow the spread of an infectious or contagious disease.

What happens next?

The bill will mostly hit the desk of Governor Brad Little next week. He can sign it into law, let it become a law without his signature, or he has the option to veto the bill. Even then, the Idaho legislature could override the veto in the Idaho Senate and House.

What if I have to wear a mask for work?

There are exceptions in the bill, including healthcare workers and those who require a welding helmet to do their job.

We get the strong feeling this isn't even close to the end of the mask debate. It's happening in the government, everywhere on the internet, and even on airplanes.

Yes, people are still fighting over masks on airplanes like it's 2020.

Please, stay safe out there. Whatever that means to you. We love you and want you to be around.
