It's the worst. You finally get your coffee, walk outside, and can't find your vehicle anywhere.

You illegally parked. Your vehicle got towed. Now you have no idea where it is, who to contact, or how to get it back.

Luckily, a new law implemented January 1st, 2026 is about to change that for the better.

My car got towed! HALP! What do I do?

Well, it's pretty easy, actually. If you set up an account on the Idaho DMV Online Portal, you can opt-in for e-notifications. That way, you'll receive either a text or email with further details about the whereabouts of your vehicle.

This law just went into effect on January 1st, and already about 50 vehicles have been entered into the database.

Speaking of vehicles, do you have some enormous piece of junk that you need hauled, but it won't fit in your current mode of transportation?

Worry not!

If you know your way around the system, you may be able to get that eyesore hauled away free of charge.

Attempt at your own risk.

If your car got towed, and you're having a hard time getting it back, have you instead considered upgrading your vehicle to something nicer and newer?

This writer is no used car salesman, however, I know a good deal when I see one.

What I'm trying to say here is, you should absolutely buy the Boise State monster truck and drive it around as your daily driver. Think of all the friends you'd make.
