Idaho’s Signature Cocktail

Buzzfeed scoured the country, got a little tipsy and picked a "signature" cocktail for each state.  They picked each state's cocktail based on it's state of origin, popularity and exclusivity.  I'm astonished I've never tried one before, but Idaho's "signature" cocktail resides right here in Downtown Boise!

In fact it resides at The Red Feather Lounge on 8th Street and it's their famed "Spring Whiskey Sling" that was once featured on the New York Times "Best of List."  According to Red Feather Owner Kevin Kelpe (via Pintrest) here's how to make our state's signature drink:

Spring Whiskey Sling

In a tall glass filled with ice combine 1 1/4 ounces whiskey (Red Feather uses Dry Fly from Washington State) and 3 ounces of chilled Idaho herb tea.  Garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh herbs.

I'll have to try one of these...ASAP! Personally, I think the best cocktail in the Treasure Valley is either the Raspberry Lemon Drop at Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria downtown or the Bam Bam Mojito at the Reef, but if this is as good as everyone says I could be swayed.
