There really are few worse feelings on Earth than walking back to your car after a fun night out, and then you spot it.

Glass on the concrete. This is going to be a long night.

That feeling sucks. If you've been there, we're sorry, and we feel for you. Good news is, if it happened to you recently, you're going to want to read on.

What happened?

Recently, a string of vehicle break-ins have been happening in Boise. Just some of the goods stolen include financial transaction cards, which were used soon after being stolen. The crimes are reported to have occurred near Orchard and Targee earlier in March.

What's the good news?

They caught the criminal! Boise Police arrested 31-year-old Tiffani Mathes, who's currently being held at Ada County Jail. Mathes was booked on 13 charges, including burglary, grand theft, and possession of a controlled substance.

What can you do to prevent criminals from getting into your vehicle? These seem obvious, but good to review:

  • If possible, park your vehicle in a garage, under a parking structure, or in view of security cameras
  • Hide your valuables so they're out of sight
  • Don't put bumper stickers on your car that advertise what's inside.

Stay safe out there! And you're probably going to want to swipe left on Tiffani.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time a string of break-ins happened here in Boise. Stay safe, because criminals are always on the lookout for easy targets. Easy targets being your vehicle that isn't secure, ya know.
