I know it's only the second day, but if it's anything like The Whole 30, the first seven days are the most exciting. Already, my low carb lifestyle had brought a few twist and turns.
Rethinking My Diet
Today it hit me. I'm going to have to think about the way I think about food differently. Our entire lives we've been trained to think FAT= BAD=STAY AWAY. Now, how I understand it, FAT=GOOD. The theory makes sense. Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years. Our bodies and brains developed before grocery stores, fast food joints or even harvested grain. Yeah, we developed on a low carb high fat protein diet. The Keto Diet mirrors that thinking and re-trains your body to burn fat the way it's supposed to instead of dense carbs. So fatty meats, fatty healthy oils are welcome om the Keto diet. The goal is to get your body in something called the Ketosis state where your producing ketones. I don't quite understand the science behind it so I'm not going to try and attempt to explain it. That reminds me if I do or say anything wrong in my blog posts feel free to correct me. I'm new and learning as I go. I welcome the feedback.
