I'm not a tax expert by any means.  In fact, I even hate math with a passion--so this truly is NOT my cup of tea. However, consider this a friendly reminder that if you haven't already, it's time to begin filing your taxes.

After doing the math at the end of last year, I knew I was due for a tax refund. With that in mind, I actually filed them before the IRS and State of Idaho Tax Commission were even accepting them! I just wanted to get ahead of the rush. Sure enough...my refund came just two weeks later and right in time to spend on my February vacation to Phoenix, Arizona.

If you're not ahead, everything is due to the IRS by April 17th. Many online programs offer free electronic filing, which is how I filed. However, if you have a more complex situation, are itemizing deductions, or are hoping to speak to a professional-- some places here in the Treasure Valley offer free assistance. You can find a location near you, HERE.

By the way, if you're feeling a little behind, overwhelmed, or rushed-- the IRS isn't some big bad guy that is going to knock your door down. There's a way to file for an extension that will give you up to 6 months time to complete your 2017 taxes, too! That form is also due on April 17th. Find that form, HERE.

Hopefully you're getting a refund and happy number crunching!
