Missing an Important Piece of Mail? This Suspect May Have Stolen it
If you're wondering where that birthday went, or why you're a month late on paying your water bill, you're not the only one.
KBOI reports that Kootenai County Sheriff deputies apprehended a woman accused of stealing mail from numerous people in both Idaho and Washington. Last week 38-year-old Kristina Geyer of Rathdrum was discovered driving with a suspended license. The next discovery was a much bigger surprise: A car full of mail.
While surprised, the police were already aware of someone stealing mail. Back in August, police were made aware of a suspicious vehicle being reported by a mail carrier in Post Falls. Said carrier claimed to see several mailboxes open in wake of a dark sedan, which has since been found filled with mail addressed to people in Kootenai County, Idaho and Spokane County, Washington.
Geyer was arrested for driving on a suspended license and grand theft, and is currently being held in Kootenai County Jail on a single charge of driving without privileges and three counts of grand theft.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
