Should Idaho Grandparents Be Required To Help With Childcare?
While we can't speak for everyone, it certainly does feel like a lot of folks are going through a tough time right now, doesn't it?
Seems like while some people are thriving, most of us are working really hard just to get by. That being said, what's the best solution for parents who have to pay for childcare for their kids?
In 2024, asking one of the parents to stay home and not have a job isn't really an option. In order to simply pay the bills, multi-income homes are becoming the norm. So, how can parents find a simple solution to pay for childcare?
During a recent interview, JD Vance, former President Donald Trump's running mate, proposed this solution when the topic of childcare came up:
One of the ways that you might be able to relieve a little bit of pressure on people who are paying so much for daycare is, maybe grandma or grandpa wants to help out a little bit more, or maybe there's an aunt or uncle that wants to help out a little bit more. If that happens, you relieve some of the pressure on all the resources that we're spending on daycare.
Is asking grandma and grandpa to chip in and help the solution? Yes, there are many families who are blessed to have relatives close by who can assist, but that isn't the case for so many Idaho parents.
What's your take? How's a regular good ol' working American family supposed to make it work with kids? Is there even an easy solution?
