This weekend was supposed to be a 3-day affair of celebrating St. Patrick's Day here in Boise. Food, drinks, family, friends, fun, right?

Well, that's not things went down. Like, at all.

What happened?

Over the weekend, on Saturday, March 15th, Boise Police were alerted to two separate calls regarding gunshots being heard near Five Mile and Ustick. It was reported that an individual was driving down the street, firing off shots from within the vehicle. Luckily, no one has been reported with any injuries.

What about the shooter?

Luckily, just in time for St. Paddy's parties, we have good news to report! Around 70 minutes after the initial call, police located the suspect, Joshua Pereira, along with his vehicle. After conducting a search and discovering bullet holes in the windshield, we're guessing police had a field day with this guy. That's some pretty concrete evidence.

What's next?

Pereira has been arrested and booked in the Ada County Jail for:

  • Weapon - Unlawful discharge at a house
  • Driving under the influence - excessive

This story is still developing.
