Tipping is such an important aspect of going out to eat, but if you have ever worked or are still working in the service industry--I don't need to tell you this.

To be honest, I was pretty ignorant to tipping until I was maybe 20 or 21 years old simply because I had no exposure to the service industry. If you're the same way-- know this: wait staff and bartenders make extremely small hourly pay (yes, even under minimum wage) banking on tips. Once I was in a relationship with someone that had previously worked in a bar and I learned this, my new policy became and has remained: 20% minimum on every outing. Wait staff works hard to make YOUR time out enjoyable.

A new social media movement has taken off that is pretty admirable and awesome.  The Tip The Bill Challenge is exactly what is sounds like-- match your bill total and tip THAT-- 100% gratuity. Hundreds of grateful posts have gone up with the hashtag: #TipTheBill , more times than not, thanking people they don't even know and will probably never see again.

What's your tipping policy? Where in the Treasure Valley do you KNOW you'll get great service?
