Happy National Taco Day!  As the resident Mexican on 103.5 KISS FM, I'm very pleased to wish you the best of times and happiness on this day! BUT, am I the only one disappointed that it didn't land on a Tuesday!?

Today is the big day and nothing sounds better than a batch of fresh, homemade corn tortillas (my abuela's are the best, I don't care what you say) with fresh ground beef and all of the fixings and salsas.  Unfortunately for me, abuela lives in Katy, Texas and that won't be happening until my next visit down.

Across the Treasure Valley however, there are several places I would give my stamp of approval for some great tacos. Here's my list!

    Imelda's

    Caldwell, Idaho

This place is fresh and family owned/operated. If you want tacos that are homemade every single day, this is your spot. Located across from the Albertson's as you pull into Caldwell on the Boulevard, if you haven't been here your life isn't complete.

    El Gallo Giro

    Downtown Boise

Located next to Amsterdam Lounge and Humpin' Hannah's, I guarantee you've smelt these tacos at the end of a Saturday night. BUT, have you tried them? Stuffed with fresh meat, or ANYTHING you request..these are to die for.

The Tailgate Sports Bar and Grill

    Boise, Idaho

Located near the entrance of Ann Morrison Park, they're known for a taco eating contest and some legit tacos.  I'd suggest grabbing the mango habanero sauce and if you're going light--order the lettuce shells! Too good not to try with great beers on tap, too!
