Let the liquidation sales begin!

I'm not going to lie, I was absolutely crushed when I saw the man with an eye patch standing on the corner by my apartment on the way to the station on Saturday afternoon.  His sign had the worst news in the entire world on it. "Store Closing! Liquidation Sale! Up to 30% off! This Location Only!" The Parkcenter Gordmans is closing after all.

We stopped through the store on Sunday to look around and it looks like treasure hunters didn't wait long to take advantage of the liquidation deals.  Walking through the juniors department, most of the cute stuff in my size was already gone.  What's left ran an additional 20% off the lowest ticketed price.

I jumped over to the active wear section to see if they had any of my favorite running shorts left in my size (and they did! Hooray!)  Women's active wear ran 10% off the lowest ticketed price.  We also strolled through the home section looking for some new glassware and an air popper popcorn maker (which they didn't have.) The home section was running 10% off as well.

So the discounts aren't super deep yet, but the shelves were starting to get pretty bare on the second day of the sale.  You may want to pop over there soon to see if you can score a deal on something you've been waiting to buy.

When the company declared bankruptcy a few weeks ago and said that every one of their locations would close BUT it turns out that's not entirely true A Houston-based company known as Stage Stores says they want to buy 50 Gordmans locations. At this point the other Treasure Valley Gordmans locations at The Village at Meridian and N. Marketplace Blvd in Nampa will remain open.
