If you drive a Volkswagen and live in Idaho, be sure to make some extra room in your wallet.

VW will be paying millions of dollars to the state after violating consumer protection laws. Overall, Volkswagen will be paying out over $15 billion for distributing vehicles which were designed to cheat emissions tests.

The case is expected to be finalized by the end of the month, and VW will be making cash payments of just over $5,000 per eligible Volkswagen owner.

The total payout to Idahoans is estimated to be just over $12.8 million.
