We're not even going to take a cheap shot or make some kind of joke here. It can be genuinely challenging to remember all of the important holidays every single year:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Washington's Birthday
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day

If you can identify all those dates off the top of your head, well, good for you. We can't. So, we're here to help!

When is Memorial Day this year in Idaho?

Luckily, this is pretty easy to figure out!

Every single year, Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May. This year, that just so happens to be Monday, May 26th 2025.

Ok, easy enough. But why do we celebrate Memorial Day?

It's ok if you don't remember. We gotchu.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday where we honor and mourn U.S. military personel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Meaning, if someone passed away while serving in the military here in the U.S., that's someone you would honor on Memorial Day.

Veterans Day, which occurs on November 11th every year, is for honoring all United States military veterans.

So, we're assuming you get Memorial Day off from work. It is a federal holiday, after all. What are you going to do? If you're drawing a blank, allow us to intervene.
