What Is Boise’s “100 Deadliest Days” & Why Should You Care?
Summer in Boise is the best! Floating the river, catching some sun, enjoying the fresh air. It's all so beautiful.
Unless you die.
Jokes aside, Boise's "100 Deadliest Days" are here, and it only takes a few seconds to make sure you're being safe, and keeping yourself (and others) out of harm's way.
Um, what is Boise's "100 Deadliest Days," exactly?
We're glad you asked. The 100 deadliest days refers to the time period between Memorial Day and Labor Day, where traffic-related deaths spike in Idaho every single year.
Even just so far in 2025, we're already off to quite a poor start. So far, OHS has reported 74 traffic fatalities in Idaho. This time last year, we had only experienced 57. You can see how this downward trend is not a good thing.
What can I do?
According to the Idaho Office of Highway Safety, there are a couple things you can do to stay safe on the roads this summer:
- Wear a seatbelt
- Don't drive distracted
- Never, ever drive impaired
- Slow down and obey posted speed limits
Sure, they all seem like common sense, but how many of those rules have you broken whilst driving lately? We won't tell, but we could certainly all do better.
Be safe out there!

It's not just a catchy name. The 100 Deadliest Days stem off a year here in Idaho where traffic fatalities are on the rise.
And, yes, the number one best way to lessen this statistic is simply for all of us to be a little more safe behind the wheel moving forward.
