News broke this morning that a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit just a few hours away from the Treasure Valley in Salt Lake City just after 7am. Multiple aftershocks have been recorded.

According to KTVB, 55,000 people in their area lost power.

The Salt Lake City Airport is currently shut down after the earthquake so all flights out of Salt Lake to Boise and into Salt Lake from Boise have been delayed.

In an already uncertain time in the Treasure Valley, around the country and the world, I can't imagine what I'd feel like to have a pretty sizable earthquake hit our area on top of everything else happening. I hope that our Salt Lake neighbors are staying safe and calm during this trying time.

Keep checking for updates if anything changes.
