Back in the day, it was completely normal for kids to graduate from high school, instantly get married and begin starting a family.

In fact, it was a societal norm that was expected.

However, things are changing every single day, and it’s a simple fact that people just aren’t getting married and settling down like they used to.

And even if they are getting married these days, it’s later in life versus at a younger age.

There are a lot of factors that may contribute to this shift in relationship dynamics: young adults (particularly women) having more options and opportunities rather than simply having children, our lifespans are extending, social media and dating apps, etc.

But whatever the reasons may be, more and more adults are staying single longer.

However, some people may rejoice in this fact, especially those who are actually looking for that special someone

More people staying single means there are more desirable options to choose from.

Well whether you are looking for a serious life partner, a casual hook-up or simply friends your age to hangout with, Idaho is actually a great place to be living.

According to HomeSnacks, Idaho ranks in the top 10 for the number of people over 18 who aren’t married or in a serious relationship.

Furthermore, this site analyzed a bunch of data from the American Community Survey Census to determine which cities in Idaho are the best places to live for singles.

They only considered towns with a population of 10,000 or more, and they paid particular attention to:

  • Number of unmarried people
  • Average age
  • Affordability for single households
  • Population density
  • Percentage of households with kids
  • Percentage of population that’s male versus female (the closer to a 50-50 ratio, the better)

Based off of these criteria, listed below are the top places in Idaho for singles to live.

Although we’re not sure we entirely agree with these results, it’s certainly a great starting point for those who are looking for love.
