‘Comfort Films’ to Watch While Social Distancing
During these uncertain and probably very stressful times, we could all use a little bit of emotional comfort, and one way to get that is by snuggling up and watching one of your favorite movies.
Buzzfeed put together this list of 16 "comfort films".
Here are the 10 from the list (you can see all at the link):
- The Princess Bride (1987)
- Singin' In The Rain (1952)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
- Easy to Love (1953)
- Pride & Prejudice (2005)
- Sense & Sensibility (1995)
- You've Got Mail (1998)
- Some Like It Hot (1959)
- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
- Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)
The original Willy Wonka is one of my favorite movies of all time. I haven't yet gotten into the quarantine, binge-watch mode, but I'm still working full days from the office right now, so it's business as usual for me. But I am stocked up with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and HBO for if and when that time comes that I'll be spending all day every day in my house.
While we all prepare for what could be a long lockdown, make sure you remember to reach out to your friends and family and check in on them! They could be lonely, or even worse, they could be out of toilet paper. That's a place none of us want to be.
