Dealership Giving Away Bibles, Guns and Flags For 4th

What could be more 'Merican for the 4th of July next week than guns, God, trucks and the good ol' red white and blue?

The Alabama car dealership Chatom Ford has gone viral for announcing a Fourth of July promo in which anyone purchasing a new or used vehicle will receive a free bible, American flag and a gift certificate covering the cost of a 12-gauge shotgun at a participating firearms retailer.

"We just wanted to show appreciation for some of the things that [residents] take pride in in this area," the dealership's owner, Koby Palmer, told CNN.

Reactions in the comments section for a Facebook video (which was apparently removed on Wednesday) announcing the promotion were decidedly mixed, with some praising Palmer for "taking an amazing American stand" and others calling him a "lunatic."

For his part, Palmer says, "We're not trying to force anything on anybody. We accept all views and walks of life."
