The Idaho Walk Bike Summit cycles through Downtown Boise this week for a fun-filled three-day event.

The Idaho State Capitol will be your host to the Idaho Walk Bike Summit that begins Wednesday, May 16 at the Capitol steps. The Idaho Walk Bike Summit educates and inspires walkers including biking advocates from across the state of Idaho all weekend.

This is more than a get-together. This Summit will feature several keynote speakers, panel discussion, workshops, mobile tours, and great networking environment.

Russ Roca's bike travel blog-turned business will be this year's keynote speaker who will also discuss how cycling can positively impact the community. Speakers also include Don Kostelec and Chris Danley of Vitruvian Planning explaining the human toll of car-centric road design and how the walking and biking public is unnecessarily put in danger when moving about their communities.

This event is free to the general public, but there's an upgraded ticket for $65 which covers the following:

  • A light breakfast on Thursday and Friday morning
  • Welcome reception
  • Lunch on Thursday
  • George's Cycles Bike Shop Celebration Party
