It's an election year. Nobody can afford to pay their rent. Groceries cost an arm, a leg, and your first born. What we're trying to say here is we have some important issues to tackle in 2024.

This is absolutely not one of those.

Scroll below to see where Idaho ranks on the list of the Most Redneck States in 2024.

First of all, what exactly is a "Redneck State?" According to Wikipedia, a redneck is defined as:

a derogatory term chiefly, but not exclusively, applied to white Americans perceived to be crass and unsophisticated, closely associated with rural whites of the Southern United States.

With that out of the way, how redneck is Idaho, exactly? According to a study from WorldPopulationReview.com, probably not as redneck as you might think. Or, possibly much more redneck than you'd assumed.

Their study was based on two criteria:

  • The number of mobile homes per 100 housing units
  • The number of Walmarts per 1,000,000 people

It's not super scientific, to say the least. Anyway, the study puts Idaho at #15 on the list of the Most Redneck States in 2024. Which, isn't great, but at least we didn't land in these spots:

  • #1 - Arkansas
  • #2 - Mississippi
  • #3 - New Mexico
  • #4 - Alabama
  • #5 - South Carolina

And while we may or may not be rednecks here in the Gem State, one thing is for sure: We definitely have our fair share of exciting high-speed chases to follow. If you somehow missed this recent story, it almost feels like a spinoff of the Fast & Furious franchise:
