Is The Toddler Challenge Cruel

My family is a trip, we're constantly laughing and most of the time we're laughing at each other. For as long as I can remember that has been the case at my parents house so when someone tries to make fun of me or pick at me, it doesn't really phase me. While some people think it's mean I actually laugh at it.

The reason I point this out is because all of a sudden celebrities and random people with an Instagram are doing the Toddler challenge, or as some call it the candy bowl challenge. In case you're not familiar you put a bowl of candy, chocolates or treats in front of a toddler and tell them not to touch it till you come back. The adult walks away and leaves a camera to watch the kid dive into the bowl of sweets or not. All of a sudden people are saying that this is cruel? Clearly I'm the wrong person to ask based on what I just shared with you? What are your thoughts?
