Drag Queens are the hot topic in Boise, Idaho. Most folks here love them! They're a blast to watch perform live, they stand for what they believe in, and those wigs. Gotta get some of those fancy wigs.

Not everyone is crazy about the idea of men dressing up as women for our entertainment, however. Would you believe there are citizens in the Treasure Valley who actually want drag queens banned from performing? It's true.

This is the part where you're probably expecting this writer to come to the queens' defense and say degrading things about the people behind the ban idea. That's not going to happen.

Believe it or not, there is one activity I believe all drag queens should be permanently banned from. Not just from Boise, but across the country:

Let's ban ALL drag queens from ever performing karaoke of 'Uninvited' by Alanis Morissette.

This isn't a dig at the artist. Alanis is a phenomenal talent. But tell us the last time you were at a karaoke bar where someone performed 'Uninvited' and you actually enjoyed it.

You'll notice the silence from the crowd. It's a long one.

It's simply never, ever happened. That song is so slow, long, and sad you might as well perform it exclusively at funerals. Good song, terrible to sit through when someone other than the original artist is performing it.

While we're at it, let's ban everyone from performing that song. Man? Banned. Woman? Banned. Drag queen? Banned. Drag king? Banned. Every other identifier? You're banned too.

Other than Alanis, of course. She's great.
