Iconic Boise Event Prepares for Biggest, Brightest Year Yet

If you can believe it, even with this scorching hot temperatures we have been feeling in the Boise area--summer doesn't have much time left. If felt like summer showed up a little bit late this year, but given that temperatures were nice, the sun was out and skies were clear, we really haven't been complaining. Now, as most of summer is behind us--September is almost here and so is one of the city's favorite events.

Despite the fact that many have already waved goodbye to summer 2023, one major Treasure Valley event awaits: The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.

It doesn't matter where you look--when you see reading or marketing materials for Boise, Idaho they almost always include hot air balloons--and those shots are from this event!

There is something magical about the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. During the week, there are early morning balloon launches that hundreds gather to watch--how often do you get to see something like that!? Then, on Friday evening, the iconic 'Night Glow' event offers an up close and personal view of the Spirit of Boise's balloons, inflating and lighting up from the ground, in the dark of night! It's amazing!

Here are the details for this year's event:

• Wednesday, August 30th: Kids Day
• Thursday, August 31st: Media Day
• Friday, September 1st: VIP Day & Night Glow
• Saturday, September 2nd: Dawn Patrol
• Sunday, September 3rd: The Last Dance

In the mornings, balloons begin setting up on the field at 6:45 a.m. and launch shortly after. Bring the kids and family out!
