Radio Shack has been around almost 100 years, but that isn't saving the brand from slowly exiting Boise and surrounding cities.

We've learned that two Treasure Valley Radio Shacks will soon be closing their doors soon, leaving just one location remaining in Boise. The Boise store on Broadway will be closing, along with the Caldwell location on Cleveland Boulevard. That leaves Boise's State Street location as the only Radio Shack to stay open here.

This week, Radio Shack filed for bankruptcy (for the second time) and plans on closing around 200 of it's 1,500 remaining locations.

You may recall back in 2015 Radio Shack hired singer and America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon as their Chief Creative Officer, attempting to reach a younger generation of customers.

Much like the struggling electronics chain, Cannon has had his share of bad news recently. In February, Cannon quit his hosting gig at America's Got Talent, claiming that NBC wanted to "silence him." Apparently, they took issue with a joke Cannon used during a stand-up comedy special Cannon had planned, so he decided to exit the show before they could force his exit. Cannon said:

"I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property.
There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity."

If you want to gear up like Nick Cannon with some Radio Shack gear, the two closing locations are accepting gift cards until April 7th. Any recent purchases at said stores needing to be returned must be done so via RadioShack.com
