YouTube, Instagram and social media in general have created multitudes of celebrity cats. I'm not talking Garfield the cat, Nala or Hello Kitty. I'm talking overnight sensations  that for whatever reason rocked the algorithm and rose to celebrity status. Keyboard Cat, Maru Master of Boxes, Colonel Meow, Grumpy Cat, Venus the Two Faced Kitten, Honey Bee The Blind Hiking Cat, Monty The Cat who was born without a nasal bridge, Hamilton the Hipster, Sam The Cat Has Eyebrows, Garfi The Worlds Angriest Cat and Lazarus The Rescued Vampire Cat but this blog is about Lil Bub.

Lil Bub The Perma Kitten was one of the first to hit mass media thanks to the internet in 2012 with his appearance on the front page of Reddit.

According to cnn.com the cat with the little tongue has died at age 8.

Lil Bub came into the world in June 2011 and died on Sunday peacefully in her sleep. The news was announced to BUB's 2.3 million followers on her official Instagram page.
"Dearest BUB, I will never forget your generosity, your limitless supply of love, or your uncanny ability to bring so much magic and joy to the world. I am forever honored and humbled that you chose me as your caretaker. Please visit all of us in our dreams," her "dude," Mike Bridavsky, posted.
So to every cat guy like Mateo and every lady that owns cats like Kat ( she says she's not a cat lady, just a lady that owns cats) I send my condolences. RIP Lil Bub... (as I pour out some liquid cat nip.
