I've seen this trending all over my news feeds today and it's just so sad. Up-and-coming rapper Pop Smoke was apparently murdered during a burglary at his home in L.A. early this morning, TMZ reports. He was only 20 years old. He put out a deluxe version of an album just days ago that I've been listening to.

Here's what happened: two masked men reportedly broke into his Hollywood Hills home around 4:30 a.m. this morning. They fatally shot Pop Smoke while shooting multiple rounds inside the home before fleeing on foot. Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Jackson, was later pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

It's unknown if he knew the shooters, who haven't yet been identified and are reportedly still at on the loose.

TMZ reports that there was a party at the house which was possibly being rented by Pop Smoke. Hours before the invasion, the rapper and a friend posted a picture on Instagram with lots cash in the driveway. It's unclear if that post lead to the robbery.

Pop Smoke's single "Welcome to the Party," was named one of the best songs of 2019 by The New York Times and even got remixed by Nicki Minaj. He was also featured on Travis Scott's "Gatti."

Rest in peace.
