STOP EVERYTHING. IDAHO GAS PRICES ARE DROPPING.
We know gas prices haven't been high for that long, so why does it feel like we've been paying double for gasoline since Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson split up?
Yes, gas prices are expensive. Really expensive, to be frank. Luckily, some relief is ready to meet you at the pump.
According to AAA Idaho, the Gem State's gasoline prices are actually dropping! Gasoline prices dropped approximately two cents in the past week, and over six cents since this time a month ago.
Unfortunately, drivers in other parts of the country have it a little bit sweeter than us Idaho folks. The national average for a gallon of gas currently sits at $4.11, while Idaho's average price is around $4.40.
If you narrow it down by city, the picture gets even more interesting. Boise is paying a high price of $4.53 per gallon, while Lewiston has it made with a budget-friendly price of only $4.08 per gallon.
Are fuel prices going to continue to drop in Idaho? AAA Idaho's spokesperson chimed in:
It’s too early to tell if tapping the reserve will achieve the ultimate goal of helping stabilize the global supply, as that strategy is just getting underway. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) benchmark for crude hit a high point of $124 per barrel about a month ago, and it’s trading near $94 today, so a continuation of that trend would be welcome news as people start thinking about driving more this spring.
