Pride was back and in great numbers on Saturday. I was truly amazed to see so much happiness in one place and I have the photos to prove it. Peep out Gallery of Luv One.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for Pride this year. We were able to work alongside a lot of the organizers and it was great. Pride didn't start on Saturday, it's been happening all week. Sources tell me that over 26,000 people turned out this year 🌈

What is PRIDE? I grabbed this directly from the Library of Congress. You can read more HERE.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

I was ecstatic to see so many of our listeners attending the Saturday Parade for themselves, supporting others, parents for their kids, and Idahoans cheering on the 🌈. I was raised in a household where judgement wasn't allowed against anyone and definitely NOT gender/race. That's just something I grew up with in the Texas. I really didn't even know the difference between black or white growing up because we were just kids. I grew up with All nationalities and genders. It was refreshing to see how far along we've come since I moved here ten years ago.

There's no doubt we still have mountains to climb. The whole world does right? Celebrate the celebrations. Social Media is our outlet and the enemy. The social universe wasn't introduced to us with a playbook. Nobody was given a user manual. You should be required to have a license to operate this unforgiving machine that builds people up in a sentence and destroys them in the next. I loved Saturday because downtown Boise was a safe place in my eyes. I definitely felt the love and hopefully, I wasn't alone.

Enjoy these experiences through my personal lens and others. Muah 💋🌈❤️
