Friday Quote of the Day
Today's quote is meaningful for EVERYONE and more important on this Veteran's Day.
I took this photo one evening pulling into port, and the sunset was about perfect. There was something memorable about coming and going from a port.
I wish I could go back for just one day and cruise on the carrier again. I was too young to appreciate the magnitude of excellence and heroism that I was surrounded by.
I remember standing on the deck that goes right out by the Admiral and use to film F18 fighter jets landing in the dark of the night. What I wouldn't get to go back and take pictures of all that today.
Today's quote is simple, strong, and true. Would YOU walk into a firefight not knowing whether you might come home alive? Can you imagine live that life every day? In my experience with veteran's young and old I get the same reaction when discussing service. 100% said they would go back in a heartbeat. I watched a mom tell me that as her daughter's eyes filled up with tears. These heroes feel a responsibility to go back and help their friends fight and protect us. I think that's worth more than a military ID and once a year free pancakes on Veteran's Day.
Thanks for being our heroes.
