Why Is This OG STD Spreading In Boise All The Sudden?

Well, yes. But, it could come at a cost.
We can't believe we're writing this in 2023, but the Treasure Valley is the epicenter for a recent outbreak of syphilis. Yes, that syphilis. The STD one. As a matter of fact, cases are up 162% since 2018. That's a lot of unprotected bumpin' uglies, if you ask us.
Don't think it's just young people who are causing the spread. Oh no. Folks of all ages are gettin' it on and infecting others, according to epidemiologist Sarah Wright:

Symptoms of syphilis include swollen lymph nodes, joint pain, sores and rashes. Luckily, antibiotics can cure syphilis, but it can do some serious damage to your body if not treated in time.
Obviously, if you fear you're at risk of having recently contacted an STD, see your doctor.
