We don't even know who the National Champion is for the 2017 NCAA Football season and we've got a much, much too early Top 25 on our hands.

Boise State turned around a season that many in Bronco Nation feared was doomed. With losses coming early on--especially an ugly one against Virginia on the blue turf, it seemed like this season could potentially be filed away as a "rebuilding year".  Not to mention, that bowl game against Baylor to end the season prior was far from pretty.

The boys in blue were able to steer the ship back on course, win a Mountain West Conference Championship Title, and go on to defeat a tough University of Oregon team in the Las Vegas Bowl.  Tucking a win against a power 5 conference was a huge step for Boise State, as well.

Going into next season, it seems the Broncos have all of the momentum in the world..and a way, way, way too early ranking to back it.

Noting a strong defensive squad returning and a veteran quarterback in Brett Rypien, Athlon Sports ranks Boise State at #20, ahead of any other non-power 5 team.
