Boise’s Most Popular Halloween Costume Is Borderline Offensive

If you're playing along at home, there are only 39 shopping days left to put together that perfect Halloween costume for 2023.

Are you and your friends going as *NSYNC? Going as Bluey with the kids? Sexy cop? If you've already figured out your attire for All Hollow's Eve, then props to you!

That is, of course, unless you're planning on wearing that Halloween costume.

You know which one we're talking about. No matter how hard you try, and how selective you may be with where you find yourself on Halloween, you're destined to run into this person at every adult party in Boise. House party, bar, club, charity event, it doesn't matter. Somehow, this man manages to appear before your eyes every October 31st.

That's right. The guy dressed as a priest with a boner.

This gag is so, so old. We're not prudes here, and we find all kinds of stupid and offensive things funny, but this just isn't either one of those things.

Perhaps, if the past 50 years hadn't happened, and you see a man dressed as a priest with a boner for the very first time, you'd probably get a good laugh out of it! It's mildly clever...?

However, this is 2023. We've seen the costume too many times to count. Not only is it played out and predictable, but it makes waiting in line at the club really awkward for everyone involved.
