A couple months ago, Keke and I got to see Bad Boys For Life in the new Regal 2DX where the picture expanded to the sides of the theater. It was a surprisingly cool experience. Now Regal has unveiled their new 4DX, and it's unlike anything I've ever experienced, outside of the Star Wars ride at Disneyland.

Haven't heard of the new 4DX? Regal describes it as this:

Experience today’s biggest blockbusters like never before at the Regal Edwards Boise’s new 4DX auditorium. 4DX presents an immersive cinematic experience for all five senses. Go beyond the sight and sound of a movie with special effects including motion, vibration, water, wind, scents and more all professionally synced with the latest blockbusters. Reward your entire body with movie going magic at 4DX at Regal Edwards Boise 22.

Last night I saw Disney's new movie Onward at the Regal on Overland. I really had no idea what to expect when I got into the theater, but I could immediately smell that they'd installed new things. It had that new car smell. The seats were all brand new, and looked much different than any movie theater seat I've seen. They had 'water on' and 'water off' buttons on the arm rests, so I knew it was about to get crazy.

IT WAS AWESOME. The seats fully moved around like an actual ride at at a theme park. Air shots hit you at your feet, in the face and back of your head. Water misted toward your face, but never too much where you were actually damp. At first, I thought it might get a little annoying to have it throughout the whole movie, but it quickly turned into a part of watching Onward.

Onward, by the way, was the cutest movie I've seen in a while. Seattle bae who flew in for the weekend (and provided the pix) shed a tear or two toward the end. We love a man who isn't afraid to show emotions.

Definitely get to the Overland Regal and see a movie in 4DX. I can tell you how cool it was, but you need to experience it for yourself. 10/10.
