It's time for the twinkling lights and magic of the season to be stored away for another year. You know that tree that is mere branches in your living room? Yeah, let it go. You can put it out with the trash this week.

This week (through the 6th), you can set your tree out with the trash and Republic Services will pick it up.  Canyon County doesn't have a recycling program but trees may be put out with the trash as well.

What you'll need to do:

  • Take off all decorations and lights (including tinsel)
  • Cut your tree into 4-foot lengths (max)
  • Remove the stand

What isn't accepted:

  • Flocked trees
  • Wreaths

Miss your deadline? You can take your tree to the Ada County landfill free of charge until January 14th.

I'm already excited for next holiday season. In the meantime, I plan to rearrange and organize everything in my life. Are you in the same mood?
