Idaho just took a DNA test and it turns out, we're 100% involved in the making of the smash hit 'Truth Hurts', by Lizzo!

It's not often that Idaho gets to play a role in a song this massive. In fact, once I learned this I tried to think of other references to our area in music and there just aren't a ton. One of my favorite Drake songs, 'The Real Her', references the blue turf, saying:

Now the both of us are colorblind
'Cause the other side looks greener
Which leaves your turf in the Boise state
Can't see her play or the team, 'cause

Then of course there is Frank Ocean's famous hit, 'Thinkin' About You" that goes on to sing:

No, I don't like you, I just thought you were cool enough to kick it
Got a beach house I could sell you in Idaho
Since you think I don't love you, I just thought you were cute

But with 'Truth Hurts' (which by the way was last nights most requested song at Bishop Kelly's Homecoming), Idaho isn't mentioned by NAME. What's the connection? It's a lot deeper than just a mention of Idaho or Boise that might rhyme with the next line.

In a video recently posted by Bilboard, Lizzo sits down and explains how she wrote and came up with 'Truth Hurts' and one of the prominent lines... "Why men great 'til they gotta be great" was actually a text that Lizzo sent...while sipping on a bottle of wine right here in Idaho!

I was lucky enough to see her at Treefort Music Festival a few years ago and I can't help but wonder if that was the show that she was at in Idaho, as mentioned in this video. She says that her and her crew, per their rider, each had a bottle of wine to themselves and THAT line came up because they were all sitting around complaining about men and heartbreak. I guess Idaho was inspiring that night!
