Hold On: 14-Year-Olds In Idaho Can Legally Get Tattoos?

If you find yourself in the hallways of any local high school here in Idaho, you may have noticed a trend:

Kids in high school actually have tattoos now.

We're having a hard time coping with it as well, but that doesn't make it not true. Minors under the age of 18 are getting tattoos with more and more regularity in Idaho. Here's the catcher: It's completely legal.

Yes, a 14-year-old minor can legally get a tattoo in the state of Idaho.

Obviously, a minor can't just stroll into a tattoo parlor and ask for a full back piece of their favorite Waifu. There's a catch. Only with parental consent can a person 14-17 years old legally be inked up.

So, next time to you see the kid at the checkout counter with a giant eyeball tattooed on their hand, you don't get to ask "Are you even old enough to have that?" Because yes, they very much likely are.
