The minute I'm done writing this blog I will be on my way to the airport and on the other side of that plane ride will be 3 days of amazing home cooked meals. My mom is one of those moms that always thinks her kids are too skinny and is constantly trying to feed us. I started to figure out how many calories I would be consuming this weekend and I gave up because it got out of control real fast. I was able to find some info on Thanksgiving dinner so If you've ever wondered how many calories we eat on average and how long it takes to burn them off... Here you go.

Accounting for appetizers and desserts, the average American consumes a little over 3,000 calories and 150 grams of fat in a Thanksgiving meal, according to the Calorie Control Council.

Keep in mind this is without going back for seconds! Who doesn't go back for seconds? To be more accurate lets say most people go back for a third of a plate or add one more dessert and end up at 4000 calories. How long does it take to burn that off?

According to the Mayo Clinic, a person weighing 160 pounds, jogging at about 5 miles per hour, will burn 606 calories per hour. To zero out your 4,000 calorie meal, you're going to have to jog for six hours and 36 minutes.
