Saturday afternoon I was doing chores around my place when I got sucked in by this Lifetime movie and it was so twisted that I STILL can't shake it from my head.

Kept Woman debuted on Lifetime about a two weeks ago, but I didn't get a chance to see it until this weekend.  It opened with the words "based on true events" so I was intrigued.  The story is about a girl named Jess who moves to the suburbs with her fiance after they were robbed in the big city.  Shortly after moving there they meet their strange, but charming next door neighbor Simon who seems very retro/old fashioned in the way he speaks and dresses.  Jess thinks there's something off about him because the drapes in his living room are always drawn and the furniture inside his home doesn't match his personality at all.

Her gut feeling isn't so far off as she ends up kidnapped and forced to live in Simon's extremely twisted 1950s style bunker.  And when I say TWISTED, that doesn't even begin to describe some of the strange things that go on there.  I still can't get some of the events out of my head two days later.  I have so many questions now!

Did anyone else see this movie over the last two weekends?  Did you think it was as effed up as I did? What true events was this movie based on?  Is it a slightly less grotesque, cleaned up version of Ariel Castro's kidnappings of Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus?

WHY IS IT STILL FREAKING ME OUT DAYS LATER?!  Check out the trailer for the movie.  If you're even the slightest bit curious about seeing it, it re-airs twice this Sunday or you can watch it in it's effed up entirety on YouTube.
