Idaho is a place where people go to get away. To enjoy all that nature has to offer. To take in the sites and simply...exist.

That is, of course, unless you're old. In which case, Idaho doesn't give a crap.

What you're about to hear is a real thing. You're going to think it's clickbait, or a joke. This author thought the same thing. Until you begin to look it up and get the same results over and over again.

In Idaho Falls, it is illegal to ride a motorcycle if you're over 88 years old.

Yes, it sounds stupid. And yes, it's 100% a real thing.

Are you actually going to get pulled over if you're riding your hog at 89 years young or older? Probably not. But, they could, and that just feels wrong.

Here's the rub: The age limit has nothing to do with motorcycle accident records. Actually, riders under the age of 40 are at the highest risk of experiencing an accident whilst riding a motorcycle.

So, why does this law exist? Who is it protecting? Is it blatantly ageist? If you're 88+ should you try to sue the city of Idaho Falls?

Eh, sounds like a lot of work. And Wheel of Fortune is about to come on, so you better get to the good chair and make sure it's turned up as loud as it'll go. You don't want to miss some of those funny quips that you've heard on reruns three times already.
