Going to a movie has become so expensive at $15-$18 in Imax. let me introduce you to the new service that is run by Netflix co-founder and former Redbox president Mitch Lowe. Say hello to MoviePass. This is a service that lets you pay a monthly fee for unlimited movies. Yea, you read that correct!

MoviePass is something I accidentally came across and maybe I'm just last to the party. I started digging around and found out that people just haven't caught on. Too good to be true, probably is right? That's not the case. MoviePass just dropped their monthly fee to $6.95 in order to increase memberships. What does that include?

  • One movie per day for the rest of the year. There's no gimmick here and zero play on words. I could tell you we're giving you concert tickets for the year and the fine print would read, "One concert per month of your choice." I'm just making that up but you get the point. This is what it says.

What are the cons? I don't really think there are but if you're picking it apart, here's what I found.

  • Your MoviePass is just for you. That means everyone else has to buy their own pass or join with you.
  • No 3D or Imax availability.

I guess it just depends on how big into movies you are. Think about it in plain mathematics. For less than the price of one movie, you could see one every day for a year. Tell me if you see something I'm missing because I researched it. The only other thing is choosing that daily movie has to be done in the app within 100 yards of the theater. Why is that? I have no idea. They do send you a special debit card too.

Get more details at MoviePass's website. The $6.95 deal is a limited promotion so you might wanna move quick. This is $3 dollars off.
