Taco Tuesday – El Habanero

I was so disappointed last week when our Taco Tuesday was frankly a bust. I think it's especially frustrating when you walk into a place that has good service and you like the people. The excitement builds and then if the tacos are a let down... It totally crushes you. Did I just sound like a taco addict? What can I say... guilty as charged. Hahaha...

Before we go any further allow me to state my disclaimer / mission. We do not accept free food because the purpose of the Taco Tuesday review is to give the KISS-FM listeners / reader an unbiased opinion. If we accepted free food we may feel obligated to give someone a more favorable review and that violates the purpose.

Today we hit this little taco truck on 5 mile called El Habanero. The sweetest little lady came to the window and informed us that they only accepted cash. I immediately thought to myself... this is gonna be good (typically if a place is cash only the tacos are delish!). After Mateo and I went to an ATM to get cash we ordered the carne asada and the adobada tacos. I wish I could tell you that these were delicious but the truth of the matter is that they were bland, very bland. The onion was the only thing I could tastes in either taco. We also tried the red and green salsa on both tacos to try and get a different result but it didn't help. Mateo scored El Habanero 1 out of 5 Tacos and as much as I want to disagree... I can't because he's right. I'm so ready for great tacos! Please send us a suggestion for next week.
