If you've turned on the news or pulled up twitter at any point in the last few hours, you've seen that the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is on fire.

The tall spire has completely fallen and the roof has collapsed on itself. It's devastating, and it doesn't look like it will be under control before the Notre Dame is completely demolished.

"Everything is burning, nothing will remain from the frame," Notre Dame spokesperson Andre Finot told French media, according to the Associated Press.

Devastating. The footage I'm watching in studio right now just gets worse and worse. I'm so glad that I was able to visit the Notre Dame in September 2017. These are the pictures I found from a quick peep into my camera roll:

The stained glass windows were BEYOND. The cathedral construction began in 1163 and was finished in 1345. I've been to some dope old cathedrals and churches in a few different countries, but the Notre Dame was really the most impressive one I've seen personally.

The statues, artwork and prayer nooks were so beautiful.

I have no idea what I was praying for in that moment, but I'm really grateful my friend snapped a pic. To pull up this picture for the first time since the trip, praying beneath Jesus on the cross just days before Good Friday.. and now the Notre Dame is burning to the ground.. it's weird.

The chandeliers were so extravagant. I've never seen anything like it.

According to a spokesperson at Notre Dame, they were trying to save some of the artwork inside. I'm really hoping they were able to get some out.

Another angle of how massive the cathedral was.

The Paris Fire Commander has just said that the next 90 minutes will be crucial for efforts to save what remains of the Notre Dame. I'm praying that they'll be able to save something. Anything. What a terrible loss of history.
