After twitter exploded with a war between Popeyes and Chick-fil-A, Popeyes sold so many of their new chicken sandwiches that they stopped selling it completely, claiming they were sold out.

I actually called the Popeyes here in Boise on Fairview yesterday to ask if they were sold out of their chicken sandwich. The employee told me that their location actually is not sold out of their buns, but they aren't allowed to sell them currently until corporate gives them the 'green light', which he said would probably be around late October.

But it turns out, they've suggested a hack to still have your chicken sandwich at their stores.

Popeyes is still sold out of its ultra-popular chicken sandwiches, telling The New York Daily News that it's "working tirelessly to bring the new sandwich back to guests as soon as possible."

In the meantime, the chicken chain has released a helpful new video encouraging customers to BYOB--as in "bring your own bun."

The clip, which depicts a bunch of confused customers, is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but also passes muster (not mustard). Since the chain has no shortage of chicken tenders, all you need is your own bread to make a sandwich--for now!

As a vegetarian, I've got no skin in the game. But I'll say that as a kid, my favorite chicken sandwich was the 'chicken little' at KFC. Keke said his favorite growing up was the McChicken at McDonalds.

Popeyes or Chick-fil-A? I'll never personally know.
