I first saw the post on the Boise Bench Dwellers Facebook page a couple days ago, as someone posted a pic to the page after seeing signs go up at the Boise Costco saying that face masks will be required by members and their guests while shopping in their stores starting May 4.

And people who don't have their face mask? They'll be turned away. You won't be allowed to enter without a face covering starting May 4.

Here's the statement from Costco:

"Face Mask Requirements

To protect our members and employees, effective May 4, all Costco members and guests must wear a mask or face covering that covers the mouth and nose at all times while at Costco. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition.

The use of a mask or face covering should not be seen as a substitute for social distancing. Please continue to observe rules regarding appropriate distancing while on Costco premises. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

Our office sent out a new face mask policy as of yesterday, as well. As Idaho gets ready to enter stage 1 of reopening, just remember that you still will be expected to adhere to public safety requirements while out in the world.
